Situated in the Northwest quadrant of Broward County, Parkland is a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale and has become one of best places to live in Florida! Parkland borders Coral Springs to the south, and Boca Raton to the north. Parkland starts at the corner of SR 7 (US 441) and Holmberg Road and has grown all the way out to the Everglades! Non-gated homes with large lots flank Holmberg Road and this section of homes is called Pine Tree Estates. There are also homes, parks and the first Parkland elementary school ( Riverglades Elementary) north of Holmberg inland towards Loxahatchee Road and this entire area is known as East Parkland. It was where this city started!
As Parkland grew, builders went westward towards University Drive, where Parkland’s equestrian center, library, dog park (known as Barkland), and city hall reside. This is in addition to many more communities and easy access to the Sawgrass Expressway at University Drive! As we head further west, the next exit off Sawgrass is Coral Ridge. This is where you will find Parkland’s middle school (Westglades Middle) and high school (Marjory Stoneman Douglas), along with 2 additional elementary schools (Park Trails and Heron Heights).
There are so many beautiful home choices in Parkland and living in Parkland gives you a bit of a rural feel (being off the beaten path) with all of the trees and parks, our own Farmers Market and less traffic, yet just minutes from coffee shops, supermarket plazas, restaurant and food choices and so much more. Parkland is just 22 minutes to the Panthers stadium and just about 22 minutes in the other direction to the beach! It is also not far from the Ft. Lauderdale airport.
Traveling to the western most point will bring you to the Everglades where you can see beautiful sunsets and even take an airboat ride on a wim!
In 2023, Parkland’s population was over 36,000 and there is no doubt it is higher today, with the latest communities nearing completion. Parkland is a great place to raise a family or move here to retire (we now also have two 55+ communities)!
